The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a well-known and significant church in Old Goa, India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Indian Baroque architecture. The Basilica of Bom Jesus began construction in 1594 and was completed in 1605. It was dedicated in 1605 and has served as an important place of worship for Christians in Goa ever since.

The mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, a prominent Spanish Jesuit missionary who dedicated his life to spreading Christianity in Asia, are housed in the church. His body is displayed in a silver casket, which is publicly displayed once every decade during the St. Francis Xavier Exposition.

Architecture: The Basilica of Bom Jesus is an exquisite example of Baroque architecture. The facade of the church is made of black granite, with a combination of Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian styles. The interior is adorned with intricately carved wooden panels, gilded altars, and beautiful paintings depicting scenes from the life of St. Francis Xavier.
